Free Weekend

It's Sunday night and we're all with our new hosts not too far from Cardiff. This weekend, our team had a very relaxing weekend in a great hotel right outside of Cardiff. On Friday we had a wonderful dinner overlooking Cardiff Bay. After that we enjoyed the city nightlife - what better way to bond than dancing to 80's music?!? (no tennis shoes allowed....)

Saturday we all had a relaxing, casual day in Cardiff - expect Mariah. Mariah took full advantage of the free weekend and took a train to London for the day. The rest of us slept in and then headed downtown for an afternoon movie. Just what we needed, a relaxing day with no set schedules. That evening we ate at the hotel pub (Adrel's favorite restaurant!) and watched soccer. Mariah was back from London, so she also enjoyed our superb meal and the soccer games.

Today we were all very lazy. Again we slept in and had a leisurely breakfast at the hotel. Before we knew it, 3:00 was here and we met with Keith Moger to outline our final two weeks. Do we really only have 2 weeks left? Then again, when I think about all that we've done in the past 3 weeks, it seems like we've been here far longer. Man, Rotarians really know how to pack it in. This week we have a full schedule ahead of us and we're definitely recharged after this weekend. Tomorrow we're headed to the St. Fagan's Welsh Museum of Life - a must see when in Wales. (So I've been told.)

In a nutshell, we're having a blast and look forward to our remaining 2 weeks. I also have to give thanks to our fearless team leader Rick....not only for putting up with us while he's sick (yes, he's under the weather at the moment) but most importantly because I don't know anyone else that would be willing to trade shoes with a team member in a time of desperate need. Ask Rick if you want to know more about that........ Thanks for letting us have a great weekend Rick!

Betsy,

I am tired just reading about your activities! I guess we know why Rotary wants only 25-40 year old team members? But... then... what about Rick?

Tell Rick we hope he feels better soon; he is not allowed to get sick.

Thanks for the update and the pictures Betsy!! I hope I have a chance to see all the group again at some point after you come back so I can hear even more about your adventures. I am definitely living vicariously through you all!
