RC of Gower & Llwchwr & RC of Morrison

We had our first Rotary Meeting tonight which was held at the Gower Golf & CC. It was a joint meeting with the the 2 clubs in the title. When we arrived at the golf course. Our host took us over to see a magnificent view of the Llwchwr Estuary and it was breathtaking - looking over the water and seeing the houses and rolling hillside on the other side. It was a view you would usually see in a travel magazine. Unlike our Rotary Clubs in SC, their meetings start with a happy hour. We were warmly received and the meeting was opened with the ringing of the bell, prayer and a toast to the queen. The meal was delicious and ended with coffee and a delicious chocalate tarte to die for. There was no formal program and I was introduced as team leader and I introduced the team to the group. We were each presented club banners and we received 2 cds- one on Gower, the area we were in and will visit tommorrow and one on Dylan Thomas, one of the areas' famous citizens. The meeting ended with more toasts and the final toast was to Rotary. We made some new friends who have already invited the team to join them for Friday night at the District Conference. It was an enjoyable evening and the fellowship was wonderful. Many of the Rotarians there went to the 100th anniversary convention of Rotary in Chicago. Both clubs were very small but with some great Rotarians. Thank you President Bruce and President Dudley for your hospitality....Rick
