First Presentation

As you can see from the pictures from Gower, we saw some more beautiful scenery. It is almost indescribable in words. We met this morning at the Gower Golf Course where we had our first Rotary Meeting last night. The view was almost as pretty as last night but a little different as it was low tide. Our hosts did share with us an interesting tidbit about the estuary and beach below. It was used by our Army in preparing for the D Day/ Normandy Invasion as the beaches and tides would be similiar to the beaches in France.

One thing our Rotary Hosts like to do is "To wind us up". It is like giving a hard time or teasing. It is most delightful. We went to the Llanelli Rotary Club tonight to give our First Presentation. The team was a little nervous as it was our first time. District 7770 will be very proud of this Wales GSE Team as they all did an excellent job. There were positive comments all around. We asked several of our new found friends how we did and they were all very positive as well. Tomorrow(Thursday) we will visit our first castle and have our first Vocational Day in the afternoon. It will be interesting to hear the team's reaction to this part of our adventure.

One thing different about Rotary in Wales, the president says "upstanding" when he wants everybody to stand and the meeting is ended with a toast to Rotary: " Rotary International, Rotary and Peace around the World. One thing you quickly learn that Rotary is Rotary no matter where you are in the world and that the fellowship is wonderful. We are looking forward to our further adventures in Wales....Rick
